Our meeting for March 2019 will be in San Antonio and will feature a tour of the York International chiller assembly plant. York International has graciously agreed to show us how chillers are manufactured and assembled. It is a great opportunity to see the interworking of larger tonnage high efficiency chillers.
Warren S. Johnson along with a group of Milwaukee investors founded the Johnson Electric Service Company in 1883. The Johnson Electric Service Co. continued to develop innovative new control technologies to help customers better manage their increasingly larger and more complex buildings. The company was named Johnson Controls in 1974.
In 1978 Johnson Controls acquired Globe-Union, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of automotive batteries for both the replacement and original equipment markets. The acquisition of Michigan-based Hoover Universal in 1985 lead Johnson Controls to become the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive seats and other interior automotive components.
Johnson Controls has always offered facilities management services to customers but expanded its scope to cover mechanical and electrical equipment to help customers reduce the number of service suppliers they need in the mid-1980’s.
In 2005 Johnson Controls acquired York International, a global supplier of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services.
Bobby Lanclos has 40 years of facilities experience ranging from HVAC technical skills, to supervision and management level positions in the Real Estate and Healthcare Markets.
Bobby has been Facility Director for the Harris County Hospital District, specifically with Ben Taub Hospital located in the Texas Medical Center. While at the Harris County Hospital District he supervised 55 direct reports who were responsible for a 1.5 million square feet complex.
In addition, he has over 13 years with Johnson Controls, with 5 years as Service Manager in the Houston and Austin markets. He also has 8 years as an Account Executive for Sales where he is responsible for branch growth and market share in the Central Texas area, including account management, energy savings initiatives, planned service agreements and equipment/controls retrofit projects.
