Who We Are

The Austin – San Antonio Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers is a professional membership society whose goal is to Apply Energy Efficiently (txaee.org).

Our Mission

  • Advance the professional careers and the common purposes of its members.

  • Facilitate networking, social exchange and training.

  • Present and discuss energy, environmental topics, and members’ ideas.

  • Stay abreast of fast-changing developments.

  • Anticipate their future.

  • Disseminate information to the trade and to the general public via meetings, publications, trade shows and presentations.

  • Build an exciting, expanding chapter.

  • Cooperate with other AEE chapters and related organizations.

  • Promote energy efficiency.

  • Promote renewable resources.

  • Publicize pertinent career opportunities.

Our Meetings

We meet monthly, on the 4th Tuesday. Check the meeting page for the meeting date and location. We sometimes meet on a different day or time. Interesting, timely presentations on current energy affairs.

Meetings are typically held in San Marcos and occasionally in Austin and San Antonio, depending on the program. Please view the meeting page to find out the location of the next meeting.

Awards We Have Received

  • Our Chapter received the Best Domestic Chapter Newsletter Award from AEE International in November 2009

  • Our chapter got the AEE Best Meeting Award for its July 2007 meeting “The Viability of Commissioning in New School Construction.”

  • Carol Harwell, 2004 Chapter President and Manager of Austin Energy’s GreenChoice Program, led AEE to move the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) to Austin, Texas.
